What people are saying about Westminster Cathedral
Getting on the bus was first come, first on regardless if you had pre-booked tickets. We got on at the time we pre-booked but only just and bearing in mind with this type of bus you want to be up top, my advice is get there early! The tour guide and the driver (John and Nigel) were great considering the bad traffic that night and delay getting started and John (tour guide) was informative and witty and did well with a tired (tour started 9.30pm) audience. It was disappointing that some of the lights weren't on (Albert Memorial) and no lights or fountains at Trafalgar Square. This obviously out of their control - London Council perhaps trying to save money! Regardless of this, the tour was interesting and informative and I certainly learned a thing or two about the cities of London. Highlights for us; definately Tower Bridge and Westminster, Elizabeth Tower and the London Eye, and singing our way under London Bridge.
I enjoyed the guide and his commentary & info on the sites and areas. We had already seen most of the sites but had a few left and no energy to keep on walking. If you want to really see anything or get good pictures this is not the tour for you as it all flys by way too fast. It was great for our purposes though which was just to see the Tower of London (albeit from the outside) and Tower bridge. The rest of the info we got from the guide was icing on top. Also very easy to book and find, and the bus was right on time. We literally booked 2 hours before we departed and that was great.
I've seen most of the sites on the tour, but the informative and entertaining live commentary introduced me to a lot of new history and facts. I had visitors from America and thought the bus ride would give me a nice break from being their tour guide, but instead found myself just as engaged as they were. Definitely worth the money.
The guide had a brilliant sense of humour and very knowledgeable, lovely views of London by night, looks completely different than during the day. Worth the money, we went mud March, mild weather but I'd advise you to take a hat, scarf etc as it gets a bit chilly, but was expected on an open top bus at this time if year.
Tour took over 2 hours due to heavy traffic. Guide tour was funny even when it started pouring rain. Kept us in cheerful spirit. They also didn't make any issue about us changing the departure time (on another bus, they even suggested it themselves as the bus we were supposed to take was quite full).
