Full description
Spend a day in Krakow exploring the most well-known sights of the city before descending into the Salt Mines, where you’ll discover an incredible underground world of salt. With hotel pickup from Warsaw and the company of an English-speaking guide, all the details will be taken care of: all you have to do is enjoy.

In Krakow, spend 3 hours discovering the city’s unique charm. Among other sites, you’ll visit Wawel Hill where Polish monarchs lived from the 11th century, and its Dragon’s Cave, a huge natural cavity within the hill, reputed to be the home of a monster. See Krakow Cloth Hall, the central feature of the market square and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Then, head to St Mary’s Church, a brick gothic church with foundations dating back to the 13th century. Admire the Town Hall Tower, which once housed a city prison and torture chamber.

The second part of your day will be spent at the Wieliczka Salt Mines. Descend 800 steps into the incredible world of sculptures made of salt, salt caves, salt lakes, and salt chambers. This mine has been producing salt since the Neolithic times, and has been excavated since the 13th century, making it one of the world’s oldest operating salt mines. See the shafts and labyrinthine passageways as you learn about historic salt-mining technology.

After a long day exploring Krakow, relax on the trip back to Warsaw, where you’ll be dropped off at your hotel.
