It was really good. They picked me up at 5:20 am to take me to the train station. The train left just before 6:00 am. Some one picked me up at the train station of Krakow, and showed me a little bit of the city before we met the rest of the group to go to Auschwitz. We took a bus ride that lasted about one and a half hours. Once there, we took a tour of two concentration camps for three hours and a half. We had a 15 minute break to grab something for lunch or check the souvenirs store. The tour didn’t include a visit to the museum. Can’t take big purses or backpacks into Auschwitz. We rode back on the bus and got back to Krakow about 5:00 pm. By then, it was dark and some places were already closed. We got to walk around the city, and see from the outside different places and churches. We got to check the Christmas market too. The tour ended at 10:00 pm at the train station. Back in Warsaw about 12:30 am. The last tour guide was very knowledgeable of the history of Poland.
Our guide Jacek arrived at our hotel at the pickup time. He was very chatty and friendly as we drove to Treblinka. Once at the Treblinka site we first looked around the museum and our guide explained the displays, their significance and then organised for us to watch some short films. Jacek waited for us outside, allow my wife and I to take our time and not feel rushed. We then walked to the camp. Jacek was constantly explaining what we were seeing, marked by various stones or displays. We felt that having Jacek describe, highlight the horrors that occurred at Treblinka helped to make our visit extra special, going above and beyond to make sure we had a great trip. On the way back we stopped at the restaurant for lunch which was delicious. Strongly recommend.
Our driver - Andrew and our guide - Magda were fabulous. Very courteous, gracious, knowledgeable and kind. The salt mine tour and tour of Krakow are interesting and enjoyable. The details of our trip were confusing. Pick up times changed 3x and the pick-up place changed 2x. Our itinerary also stated that we had a ride from the train to our apartment and when I called, I was told there would be no driver. So the arrangement details were not reliable
My partner and I wanted a break form Warsaw, so this trip to the country was a gentle and pleasant change which left us feeling relaxed and refreshed. A varied and interesting itinerary with the knowledgable and un phased guide Martin. He was knowledgable, efficient and thoughtful, and at the same time comfortable to be around with. An enjoyable day thank you.
The driver (Kris) picked us up from our hotel at 6:30am and it took about 4 hours to drive there. We stopped for coffee and snacks along the way. We had a local guide there and after Kris brought us to Krakow. He was great and recommended some places to see. After 3 hours we drove home. It a well organized trip and I highly recommend it.
