Indians first came to Australia’s shores many years ago, and with them they brought culture, spices, and delicious food. Explore the flavors of India on this 3-hour walking tour of Melbourne’s Central Business District, and sample dishes from across the regions.

Your guide will tell the story of the arrival of the Indian community in Australia, explaining how their aromatic spices were stirred into modern Australian cuisine. Learn about the use of spices in different foods, and about their health and flavor benefits.

Explore the subtly spiced, rice-based cuisine of South India, as you travel through the various cuisines in all their diversity. Taste rich Punjabi food, spiced with garam masala from the north of the subcontinent. Along the way, you will visit an Indian grocery store and discover more Indian ingredients. Conclude with an offering of Indian desserts to experience a taste sensation like never before!

• This is a walking tour; however it is not fast paced and is comfortable for most people. The walk from the various venues is about 30-40 minutes in total, with breaks at each vendor; however it is recommended that you wear comfortable shoes

A good introduction to Idian food.

Our tour guide was very knowledgable and friendly. Would have liked to have tasted a greater number of indian dishes.
