What people are saying about Urquhart Castle
The boat was great. Big enough for lots of people so don't worry about having enough space for everyone. There's a bar serving drinks, and snacks, and also Nessy products. Very limited parking at Hotel though, and so we (and many others) had to try to find parking on side of the road. I don't know what would have happened if we didn't find a space (as only 8 roadside spaces). This needs reviewing. Everyone friendly on board and pick up/collection time from Castle on time. Reasonably priced. Excellent! Would definitely use again. Printed ticket doesn't get you entry, you have to swap this for an actual ticket when you get there, which is a bit annoying to queue again (and therefore loose place for good seating).
The activity was very good, the Urquhart castle is an amazing place to visit! The dock of departure could be better indicated: direction to reach the starting point are very poor and the same Company offers multiple activities and cruises on Loch Ness, with several points of departure, which create confusion to tourists. Once started, the cruise was very good quality.
We had a great time, the staff were very friendly and were also smiling which in my opinion makes all the difference. The sun was shining and the views were fantastic. We are sure we even got a glimpse of Nessie. The only thing I could say was a slight down was that we couldn't really hear the commentary however we still read the leaflet that was availabl.
Very good, the only thing is the distance from the Cruise ship. We were on princess cruise. From the cruise ship we had to get a taxi and the cost was $ 150 Pounds both ways, so if you are doing this tour from a cruise , add this cost. Still it was cheaper than any of the tours offered by princess cruise ship.
Unfortunately we didn't enjoy the castle due to the over flood of tourists, we couldn't get around the castle comfortably and were caught on the small spiral steps up to the tower for 10 minutes waiting for people to squish to one side. Apart from that the journey on the Loch Ness is wonderful.
