Our guide, Michael, was fantastic. Genuinely nice guy with an obvious love for his country and the Isle of Skye. He was informative throughout and encouraged questions The trip itself is very good. There are enough stops along the way to stop you being bored on the mini bus, though at some spots you aren’t there long enough. It’s understandable, though, considering how many places we visited. Being in Inverness for a few days, this was a perfect way to get out and see the scenery, with a couple of castles, and of course the Fairy Pools. They were rather busy for our visit, but nothing you. And I about that! Popular place. I’d just say I wish we had longer at each stop. I would have rather been able to stay longer the the pools, distillery, and Portree than stop off for the smaller castle photo opportunities. But that’s just me. Overall, had a great day!
We were so pleased with this tour. Rory was an excellent guide, and we were glad to have his guidance and oversight of the itinerary, as we wouldn’t have known where to go. He took us to so many places of such breathtaking beauty and to many others that for various other reasons were lovely to experience. We were worried about doing a tour instead of driving ourselves, as we wanted some independence, but in the end the guidance was worth it, and there was still plenty of time to be on our own and to focus on the beautiful scenery around us instead of on driving. I 100% recommend.
My mother and I took the Isle of Skye tour with Fairy Pools from Inverness and it was nothing short of a magical adventure. Gordon, our seanchaí (storyteller), shared history, humor, insight, and the SPIRIT of the Highland peoples and beasties. We called for Nessie (and the other beasties that live in Loch Ness), danced and swam with faeries, gained a newfound appreciation for whiskey, and we shared lots of laughter. We felt very safe the whole time with his competent care and driving. This tour unleashed within us a unique love and passion for the Highlands. What a day!
This tour was really good due to the tour guide, Michael was very knowledgeable on the history in the area and of Scotland in general. The only drawback for me was I would have liked to have heard some traditional music in the background during the drive.....the weather was not cooperative for the tour so no fairy pools but all of the stops were really great and Michael definitely tried to get us some ad on photo opportunities at other historic landmarks because of the weather so that was very thoughtful! Thanks Michael for a great day out in the highlands!
This was probably the best tour I ever went on. Our guide, Michael, was very professional and friendly. I was amazed with the amount of knowledge he had concerning the Highlands and the attractions. The van was flawless and very comfortable. The weather was not on our side and most of the time there was intense rain, but that did not ruin the experience. Due to the rain it was not possible to visit the Fairy Pools, but Michael made it his mission to adapt the route so that we could still enjoy the views. Absolutely amazing experience - 10/10 reccomended
