What people are saying about Ubud
Our driver, Depa, was such a nice person and looked after us very well on our early morning drive (2:30am) to Mount Batur. He picked up breakfast for us on route and connected us with a great mountain guide (Nomaj, I think the name was) who made sure we were up the mountain at a pace we were comfortable with and safely. On a cloudy day, it can deny you a view of sunrise, but we were lucky that the clouds cleared enough for us to get some great moments of sunrise. Breakfast and hot drink was provided while we waited at the top (it can get cold at the top, recommend hiking jacket). Depa then drove us around beautiful countryside of Lake Batur to a organic Luwak coffee plantation. A quick tour of how it’s made was followed by generous tasting session of different teas and coffees (complimentary, except for Luwak coffee). Highly recommend this experience and Depa, our driver.
We took lots auf pictures and saw a lot of places on this day. The tour makes everything it promises. Would do it again.
I enjoy every minute of the experience. The host, Sumi, is truly the best and knowledgeable guide that I ever had while travelling to 14 countries. I was surely touched and amazed by the village's hospitabie people, distinctive culture, religion, houses, lifestyles and of course, the authentic Bali's foods that I and Sumi family cooked together. I fall in love with everything, Sumi's wonderful family and sweet neighbors. This delightful, culturally rich village has so much, so much to offer! I had the best cultural excursions ever. Without hesitation, I happily, highly recommend this experience to anyone who want to touch first-hand uniqe Bail beyond magazines, tv and internet. Sumi definitely got my eyes wide opened and horizon expanded while smiling a lot. Every story is inspiring that I can not wait to share with my American students while teaching Asian history and culture. Go visit Sumi! I know you will enjoy every minute, every story and every heritage as much as I do.
We saw and learned much about Bali. A lot of fun! I even broke the bike chain by accident, and they were very nice about it. No problems. Had a back-up bike to use.
The whole day was well organised and our guide Putu had excellent English! We were never rushed, and we loved that it was a private tour! We got to see Mt Batur in a different way, on the day we went, if you had have hiked up Mt Batur, it was too foggy and you wouldn’t have got a view, this was a much better way to experience this mountain. It was nice to get away from the crowds and they took us to a place in the rice paddies where there were no other people- great for photos. We were never pushed to buy anything and Putu was very attentive during our trip!
