We visited New Orleans from Aug 24th to 27th 2017 & the weather forecast had predicted 3 days of rain due to Hurricane Harvey. We were fortunate to not get a single drop right until we left on Sunday afternoon. Lesson learnt, - Do not trust weather forecasts :) as New Orleaners say. We bought a 3 day ticket for just $10 more. We did the sight seeing route non-stop on Day 1 & went back for the walking tours and stops of interest on Day 2 & 3. We most enjoyed the French Quarter tour and our tour guide, an elderly lady was exceptional, enthusiastic, informative and more fit than most of us in the sweltering heat. Getting to know the history of NOLA and how the city came to be what it is today, the past, the present, the influence of the Spanish, the French & the Americans, the cemeteries, the cajun vs creole cuisine & culture, the balconies vs the verandas, through the bus guide and these walking tours was so informative. Loved the city, its cuisine, its vibe & its people the most.
Comfortable bus and shaded (very important in NOLA!) Great tour guide who combined vividly sharing the history of New Orleans with humorous anecdotes. If like me, you are not designed for the heat and humidity this is a great way to see the city. Love that one of the stops was at the always impressive WW2 museum. Do yourself a favour and tear yourself away from the hurricanes and live music and get on this tour for a few hours and see more of what NOLA has to offer.
I enjoyed the various guides and different information we received from each one. It was nice to be able to hop on and hop off in different area, or just ride the loop to see and learn. I am really glad I purchased the three day pass and was able to enjoy the Garden District tour. I loved New Orleans and can’t wait to visit again!
We enjoyed our tour on day 1 in the city. Beth was our tour guide and shared the history and her experience as a long time resident of the city and her ongoing participation with mardi gras floats. Dee was our driver and all went smoothly. Especially enjoyed the views of the Garden District.
We bought the 3-day package, lots of trips around town, different guides explaining different things, and a few quality walking tours. Our favorite was Paige, who took us through the Garden District demonstrating a lot of passion and knowledge for the area.
