Top sights in London
One of London's top must-see tourist attractions, the Dungeon is dedicated to some of the city's more gruesome past. Here's a little bit of background to whet your appetite before you head along yourself.
The original London Dungeon was established in 1974. It was originally a more educational museum, dedicated to the likes of Boudicca, Mary Tudor and Thomas Becket.
Over the years, the museum has become more of an actor-led, and interactive experience, with tours and rides in place to entertain, excite and frighten visitors.
In 2013 the London Dungeon moved to a new location on the South Bank next to the London Eye to make way for new rides and expansion.
Now tours are led by actors in a fully immersive experience which will take you through some of London's and Britain's macabre past.
Although the museum is still based on historic events, it is more of a fun and exciting tourist attraction for the whole family. However age 8 and up is recommended to enter.

What people are saying about The London Dungeon
Really enjoyed our trip to London and our package we purchased. We wanted to do the London Eye and hop on hop off bus - the river cruise was an additional extra thrown in and ended up being the highlight. We ended up walking most of the way around the city, only using the bus twice - both times to go just one stop. Magnificent views from the London Eye - but the cruise was just wonderful. We went from Tower Bridge to Westminster. The guy speaking was really funny and the facts super interesting. The baileys hot chocolate on board also delicious. Would absolutely recommend.
A great way to hit the highlights of London, either to get oriented for a trip of several days, or when you just have a very limited amount of time. Bus was comfortable, guide was knowledgeable, and there were plenty of opportunities to get on and off. It was easy to get the tickets online, and the mobile ticket scanned easily and effortlessly. There was a live guide on one audio channel, and recorded tour highlights in many languages on other audio channels. The guide supplied decent enough earphones.
Superb, Fernando down from Euston station was brilliant in explaining it all to us - sat 29 Alieta??? On bus to Tower of London was amazing - service was phenomenal and so well organised. Really enjoyed it - Cruise was a bonus - just 1 grumpy driver from westminstervbridge to abritish museum as we were a bit slow realising it was our stop would definitely recommmend and use service again, it was smashing
Good tour both the recorded guide and the live guide were informative. Currently not all of the stops are stopped at and the bus is intermittent. We weren't told this on booking. We ended up missing out on some of the things we wanted to see and couldn't get to the stops for pickup in the afternoon so walked back and got the tube to places we wanted.
This hop on hop off bus was very convenient! My family and I were able to see all of the sightseeing places we wanted to go to. It's a great way to get around the city and the views on top of the panoramic bus were amazing.
