Full description
Situated on the crest of a hill between the Scottish Lowlands and Highlands, Stirling Castle is one of the most impressive castles in Scotland, a source of national pride and intimately linked to the country’s fight for independence.

With this full-day entrance ticket you can avoid the lines at the ticket office to explore its treasures at your leisure. Highlights include the magnificent Great Hall, tranquil Queen Anne Gardens and the serene Chapel Royal, which dates back to 1594.

Step into a world of plots, passion, intrigue and high fashion as you learn about the people of the palace, such as James V, Mary Queen of Scots, and Regent Arran. Explore the sumptuous world of the Royal Court, highlighted by a 12 million pound project that has returned the 6 apartments in the castle’s Renaissance palace to how they may have looked in the mid-16th century.

Years of research were carried out by archaeologists, historians and other scholars to ensure that every detail - from the magnificent 4-poster beds to the heraldic decorations on the walls and ceilings - is as authentic as possible. Costumed performers in the role of nobles, guards, ladies-in-waiting, and Mary of Guise (mother of Mary, Queen of Scots), will help bring the experience to life.

Great to see where historical battles and Scottish monarchs lived

Real feeling of an historic monument, so many battles and kings and queens who lived and visited Sterling Castle. Although not big make sure you read go to the garden vaults and read the history before entering the castle, as this will give you the plotted history in a easy visual and script. Really enjoyed the views from the castle walls and the Great Hall. A must visit for Scottish heritage.

Sterling Castle is more of a museum

If your into looking at castle's this one huge and gorgeous but the inside is more of a museum. It's amazing on the outside and it's great to walk around everywhere. This one had information displays and other interesting informative stuff. It's amazing how they restored this castle. I just prefer castles that are still in a state of ruin.

Simply magnificent

The visit was great and the staff really made it. They got right in to character, dressed the part and were amazing! Views, breath taking. I would dedo recommend this as a min requirement when visiting Scotland! Thanks to the team at Stirling castle. Only criticism is the cafe staff. There was only 1 person serving and a couple standing around and chatting and not bothered by the line out the door.
