The tour started in San Gimignano, then Monteriggioni, a stop for lunch at a wine estate (Famiglia Mazzarrini), and then Siena. The time to visit San Gimignano is appropriate (around 2 hours of free time) and the city is very nice ... don’t miss trying the Ice Creams at the main square there! Monteriggioni could have been skipped for me, is a city behind walls that was built to protect Siena, but there isn’t much to be done there ... it was a 40 min stop that could have been 15. Then, lunch. The starters and the food itself was ok, but the wine tasting was poor (very little wine), and the person that was in charge of guiding us there was VERY ANNOYING! During lunch she was beating a corkscrew against a wine glass and screaming and calling attention all the time. Prices to purchase average wine and oil were high, it’s a trap. Then, Siena! Three free hours there were enough to discover the city. All in all, it’s quite worthy the price, just need some improvement on lunch hospitality.
I had a wonderful time. The staff of your local partner were very professional. They were on time and were really friendly. Special thanks to Olesia, who was very helpful, she explained the history of the places that we visited very thoroughly in order to understand what we are going to see, she was very patient and polite, she answered the questions that we had, in order to enhance our understanding. In Sienna, she took as a walking tour to the centre of Sienna, explaining the history of St Caterina and also the history of the Duomo of Siena. She also asked one of her colleagues to take tickets for all of us in order to be able to see the Cathedral, since when we arrived to the cathedral it was 16:45 and she was explaining the history of the Duomo. We managed to see the Duomo of Siena thanks to Olesia. She also explained the game that is organised twice a year in Siena at Piazza El Cambio. She was very professional and knowledgeable. I strongly recommend this tour to everybody
Long busy day, but some great sites. Good tour guide. Lunch was nice, got penne pasta with tomato sauce and salad and cheese as the vegetarian meal. Others had meats and cheeses and meat pasta? Learned about Chianti wines, too. Pisa was amazing and really liked San Gimignano- just not enough time there.
We had a great day, getting to know 3 of the most well- known places in Tuscany. The bus is comfy and during the way you get all the explanations so you can have free time in Pisa and San Gigminano. In Siena you spend more time and you have a guided tour as well. Paola, the guide was really helpful.
I loved San Gimignano. The wine tasting was excellent, the wines and the explanations, lunch was delicious. Sienna was a disappointment without a guide and not having anyone other than the driver meant there was no background or history given.
