What people are saying about Santiago de Compostela
Didn't make the best first impression as there was confusion at the starting point, some guests didn't have their printed ticket (patrons' fault, not the guide's), and one couple was on the wrong bus as there were two tours starting at the same starting point. However, the tour itself was wonderful. The first city was nice, old, lots of history but not really our "thing", the second and third stops were stunning- absolutely incredible, beautiful and memorable and definitely worth the day trip out of Santiago de Compostela. The tour bus was nice. The boat ride was really unique, and seeing the underwater mussels etc was so cool! I ate way more mussels than I expected to, and we had enough wine that folks were dancing on the boat. Bus ride home was comfortable, many people napped, overall a great experience I would recommend despite the rocky start.
After an earlier tour (Rias Baixas) we had hoped to get more information during the tour. This tour was light on information about the area. Particularly, we had only one mention of the Costa del Morte at the beginning of the day and no further mention despite the fact that we drove along this coast. There was a lot of free time given in Finisterre with no direction so we spent our time after lunch wandering aimlessly. That said, the tour route was spectacular and the guide and driver extremely pleasant. It was more a driving tour than a cultural tour.
Lots of information to absorb, but our guide (Ana) did a great job of pacing the delivery and repeating crucial facts. We also had good amounts of time to wander and explore on our own, and the guide’s recommendation for lunch in Fisterre was spot on. Very enjoyable outing in spite of the not-so-perfect weather — so much fog we didn’t get a great view of the wonderful coastal scenery, Driver (Luis) was excellent and careful
A good mix of information given out; historic, contemporary, rural, agricultural, environmental. A good Spanish & English speaking guide. Well paced to show the various sites as well as a long enough time for the lunch stop. An excellent spot to visit, with the wild Atlantic Ocean as a back drop, with beautiful rural Galicia being interpreted as we went along.
The tour gave a good combination of different sights and included free time to wander around. Our guide Anna gave a lot of interesting information about the area, history, current situation in Galicia etc. and provided great answers to all our questions. We really enjoyed the day.
