Full description

See the giant sequoia trees at Muir Woods National Monument and discover California’s Wine Country on this San Francisco day trip with hotel pickup. Walk in the shadows of the world’s tallest trees, before enjoying wine tastings at 3 wineries in the Sonoma and Napa valleys.

After a pickup from your San Francisco hotel, your first stop is Muir Woods National Monument (entry tickets not included). Spend 1 hour hiking through the old-growth forest here to admire the famous coastal redwood trees.

Next up, continue onto Glen Ellen in the Sonoma Valley for your first wine tasting session. Learn all about the history and craft of winemaking as you tour the vineyard. Afterwards, you’ll have some free time to enjoy lunch (at your own expense) in Sonoma Plaza.

In the afternoon you’ll savor 2 more tasting sessions at wineries in Napa and Schellville. Savor the chance to taste wines produced from a variety of grapes, specialties, and wine-making styles.

Last but not least, finish off your trip with a photo stop at the Golden Gate Bridge, before being dropped back at your San Francisco hotel.

Our tour guide, Jason, was very knowledgeable and charismatic. He really made the trip fun! It was a great experience although we would’ve loved to have more time to explore Muir Woods as one hour was not enough time to enjoy it fully. The wineries were a good variety of different atmospheres. Lunch at Sonoma was good but again, not enough time to shop and look around after eating even though we were given 1.5 hrs and there was no wait at the restaurant we chose to eat at. But overall, we would definitely recommend this tour. It was a day well spent and the photo op at Golden Gate Bridge was awesome and I don’t think you would get that view anywhere else.

This was a great activity to do even if you aren't the biggest outdoor enthusiast, or even wine enthusiast because you would be able to experience the best of both worlds in a fun, relaxing environment. Our tour guide Roman was hysterical and made the trip that much more enjoyable. It amazes me that he can crack jokes, be informative, and still drive us all with such ease around busy parts of the city with no issue. Big props to him! I would've loved to have spent more time in Muir woods, but that just means I have to come back (: There were so many different wines to try that I believe there to be at least one everyone would enjoy. This is a wonderful trip with a good mix of activity.

This was a full day with a lot of activities. We enjoyed everything, with the understanding that it was sort of a “survey course”. Super energetic guide who did his very best to share his knowledge with us. The bus had air conditioning problems which added to his challenges, but he managed to stay charming and fun the whole time - very professional.
