Escape the chaos of Rome for one day and feel like a 19th century explorer
Tivoli is a small town about an hour's drive outside of Rome. Despite its small size, Tivoli boasts of two UNESCO world heritage sites: Hadrian's Villa and Villa d’Este.
Hadrian was one of the best emperors and one of the greatest architectural geniuses of his time. Along with master minding the Pantheon, Hadrian built a truly marvelous villa in Tivoli. This is a massive sight, luckily not frequented by many tourists. You will have the chance to get away from the chaos of Rome for one day and feel like a 19th century explorer, wandering through the peaceful ruins surrounded by the Roman countryside, led by a professional guide.
Hadrian's Villa is not the only great sight in Tivoli: in fact, in the middle of the 16th Century the Cardinal Ippolito d'Este also chose Tivoli to build his marvelous Villa d'Este, whose greatness could compete with Hadrian's residence.
You will admire the gardens and the stupendous man-made waterfalls of Villa d'Este, exhibiting the elegant combination of spontaneous and orchestrated beauty that makes Tivoli famous. You will be picked up in a car and dropped off at the end of the day at your hotel or wherever you prefer in Rome. Transportation by car with a driver and tickets are included in the price.
