What People Are Saying About Reykjavik

Everyone should experience a Golden Circle trip.

Pick you GC trip according to your wishes as some may differ slightly. The secret lagoon trip is not the blue lagoon I believe. That said I understand it's more secluded but in any case was very relaxing and quite eerie in the half light at 1030hrs. We the visited a small waterfall went on to Geysir where there was a lunch break. Recommend soup and bread. From there to Gulfoss a more impressive waterfall, do not mix this up with a waterfall you can walk behind. Then the return journey through the national park where you are given an explanation about the American/Eurasian tectonic plates. The effects their movement has made over time and continues to do so. A stop is made at an information point where you can see the 'rift valley' between the two land masses. The guide was very informative about the places visited and was a great help telling us more about his country with helpful hints on what to do and what not to do, all with great humour.

Excellent trip made better by great guide!

Special thanks to Matty and particularly to Howser for making this a great trip. Howser was very informative and funny for the full day. Definitely recommend this trip, it was great value for money.

Fantastic day, well organised, great tour guide, amazing sights, loved

Totally worth doing this tour, you see a lot and the tour guide was helpful, entertaining and informative.

We booked a minibus trip, but only we 2 reserved, The travel agency, East West Iceland Tours, did for us a private tour instead of cancelling it. Our local guide, Steinthor, was passionate about nature and his country and we got that passion. Impossible for us doing that tour by ourselves in a rent car. He drives us into the wild nature, safely and cautiously in our 4 * 4 even by unmarked roads; we went across mountains, to glaciers, volcanos, to see "the trolls" at the coast, we also followed the steps of Jules Verne and we approach the entrance to the center of the land.. Sometimes you could feel alone in this amazing and magnificent world. Getting back we stayed at Johana´s place to have dinner: A friendly woman who was happy seeing us how we enjoyed her excellent homemade food. And finally another gift, he gave us an extra round off busy roads, under a clear sky, and he waited unhurriedly for the aurora borealis to visit us. NO WORDS ENOUGH TO SAY STEINTHOR, EAST-WEST THANKS
