What people are saying about Queenstown
We were able to book online the night before for Luge and Gondola. The luge had great employees to assure everyone knew how to stop, go, turn, etc. You start on a "1st Time Run" and then the other 2 were a different track although both were quite enjoyable. The gondola line and luge line went pretty quickly. Thank you Hannah from California for directing us Floridians NOT to walk up that hill! We enjoyed a few beers in the bar area while overlooking the bay area and watching all the action. This is a definite MUST DO!
Very glad I choose to fly to Milford Sound instead of doing the whole day bus trip. Very efficient operation from pick up to drop off. No waiting around. No over energetic annoying tourism staff trying to oversell the experience. Pilot was great, providing just the right amount of information without being distracting which allowed us to soak in the amazing landscape. Cruise was also great. Beautiful waterfalls, snow capped mountains and plenty of Dolphins and seals coming out to play.
I especially appreciated our guide Sam who was informed and entertaining throughout the trip. He is a safe and careful driver too, which really helped for those of us not used to driving on high mountain roads. I would recommend this trip to anyone visiting Queenstown, as it has been a high point of my trip here. Thanks again to our guide and driver Sam, who did an amazing job.
The bus driver was very experienced, informative. There was a family with a baby that kept crying in the bus on the way which made it uncomfortable sometimes. When I mentioned this to the bus driver, he did help. Picnic lunch was a healthy option.
Milford sound was great, Mt Cook was not really good bus was late two hours waiting for two person lat. So the 7:20 tour became 9:am by the bus depart already 9:00 am everybody not happy it was not a really good day for us.
