What People Are Saying About Pula
Really had a good experience with Orka Diving Club! I had a panick attack the first half hour in the water and our guide let me take my time to get used to the gear and being able to breahte under water. You get all the information you need to dive and afterwards you see a lot of the bay at the diving centre. We didn't have a very sunny day so we only had visibility to 6 meters and therefore we didn't go any deeper (also because of the pannick attack I didn't have that much air left so we had to return to the centre). I didn't expect to see this much of the bay and fish. I had a really good experience and am looking forward to doing it again!
Thanks for the fun trip Daniel. You worked us hard but was really enjoyable and the wine and cheese was a perfect topper to the trip!
We had a great day with good quality mountain bikes, a very friendly and knowledgeable guide and a fantastic wine tasting. The bike route itself is actually quite tricky with partly difficult terrain so we had a proper workout! We stopped at a beautiful, hidden beach for a swim and were shown many other fantastic beaches only reachable by foot or bike. It was a great way to discover beaches you may not stumble upon otherwise so I would recommend doing the trip at the beginning of the holiday. We stopped for pictures and a drink too. At the end of the day we had the wine tasting, which was fantastic. We ended up bringing the whole family later that evening for dinner!
We had a beautiful tour in the Isterian countryside, very nice views from the different wineyeards. We visited three wineries with their own uniqe style and production. We tasted high class awarded wines at them all. We where able to taste all the main carateristcal types wines from sparkling to nice sweet desert wines. As a bonus we tasted high quality olive oil at one wineyeard and troffles in an old village om top og a hill. Thank you Marco for a wonderful day.
Quite a long way to go each day in the searing heat - I'd avoid August, especially in heatwave! But Fiore tours were v friendly and good about dropping us off half way so we could make it more manageable. One of our bikes was dodgy (not great) but they drove out the next day to replace it. Recommend you buy a map of Istria so you can adjust the route and to help with directions (would be good if the tour pack included that - the booklet wasn't enough for us). Hotels were comfortable and well located - only one didn't have air con but when we asked they gave us a fan. 2 had a pool. Beautiful scenery and delightful towns. Put your swim stuff in your paniers for sea stops en route. One word of warning - some of the cycling was along busier roads than we would have liked. Overall a great trip but we had to customize it a bit because of the heat. You're fine with English but a bit of Italian and German helps too.
