It was an action packed vacation, to say the least. We truly enjoyed Boston and the history! The Whale watching was magnificent, but other tourists would about knock you down to see. So be prepared for that especially if you have small children, even they are not safe on the sunset cruise. With so much to do, it is hard to pack it all in and we had the 5 day pass. We got to about half of the events listed and a few that weren't..
I ordered a 3-day pass, but unfortunately the 3rd nor'easter to hit Boston in March curtailed activity in the middle of my stay - thus I could only use the pass on one day. I enjoyed what I did (Museum of Fine Arts), but felt I had paid too much for only one activity. There was no way to receive credit and it is extremely unlikely that I will be back in Boston within a year.
A very good way of getting to know Boston in a short stay, including things we probably would not have done otherwise. Guided walk along the Freedom Trail particularly recommended. The only disappointment was that some of the attractions listed (such as Charles River cruise) were out of season. Even so, good value - much cheaper than paying as you go.
I visited Boston and Chicago recently and we thought using the Go Card on Boston was far better than Chicago. I think for using any Go Card you need the full day you are buying the pass for. One day cards are absolutely useless cause many attractions close by 3.30 pm. You really need to plan and execute your visits to make this a successful buy.
Some of the guides were excellent. They all had similar historical information but each had his own spin. We didn’t see any women driver/guides. Possibly there are some— hope so. June West from Toronto.
