The tour got off to a late start as the road outside our apartments was closed and we had some difficulty locating the guide. When she met us at the meeting point, we were escorted to a comfortable 15 seater Mercedes Springer, which was full by the time we had collected the remaining members of the group. The tour gave us a brief overview of sites we passed in the bus. We then visited Lazenki Park which is where we spent most of the tour. The park is very large, therefore you only see a small section with the main aspects. We then headed to the main town to see the main square. All in all, the trip is a good way to see most of the main tourist attractions in Warsaw. However, it is quite expensive owing to the fact that you only see two places by foot.
Michel's enthusiasm for Warsaw was infectious. During this fascinating tour he made sure that we saw many, if not most, of the different sides of Warsaw - the historic and often tragic side, the post-war Communist side and the current modern and hip side. We went to places we never would have found on our own and we heard the history of the city that was very personal and meaningful. Michel was entertaining and knowledgeable. He worked to adapt the schedule to our interests and he even managed to "sneek" in a couple of extra stops to show us the greener side of Warsaw. If you like adventure and to get off the beaten path with a passionate and knowledgeable guide then I highly recommend you tour with Michel and Adventurous Warsaw.
The three hour tour optimized all of the sights. The guide kept the group on focus and moving so we could see more sites. Provided excellent information about the impact of WWII on Warsaw. Also identified how the city was rebuilt. Great mix of driving and walking. We recommended to a group we met the next day in Warsaw.
I had just a one-day layover in Warsaw and wanted to make the most efficient use of my time. Szimone picked us up at the airport, dropped our luggage at the hotel, and proceeded to give an insightful and interesting tour which whetted my desire to return to Warsaw.
The tour was excellent and very thorough. Olaf was knowledgeable and funny, driver Jerzy on point with driving and timing. We saw what we wanted, which is not always possible with really young children. Thanks a million for the brilliant tour.
