Exhilarating Adventure around Florence and Chianti

We had an amazing few hours exploring the outskirts of Florence and the Chianti region with our drivers Hamid and Luca, both very knowledgeable and great company. This was definitely the best way to get a wonderful view of the city and then enjoy the Chianti countryside. We booked as passengers, with two drivers, and I strongly suggest this is the best way to enjoy the trip as driving yourself requires high competency on a Vespa and you then need to focus on the road and other drivers rather than be able to enjoy the scenery. Thanks to Hamid and Luca for a fantastic few hours and highly skilled driving and commentary.

3-Hour Panoramic Tour of Florence by Vespa Reviewed by

Used both tours A & B with our 48 hour tickets - Great city overview

The bus tour was a great compliment to walking around the city for an average of 8 miles, 13 kilometers, a day (using my Fitbit watch to measure). Finding the bus stops was easy after we obtained a map on the bus, but the first time we had to hunt and peck locations using maps.google.com. Our ticket was initially printed on the bus scanning the code on the mobile app. The buses were frequent, on time and dependable!

Saw a Florence that I never would have known existed...a lovely city!

The only disappointment was that our original tickets were for the day when a student climate protest paralyzed Florence. We were not able to get to the bus and when we finally had time to use the tickets, they had expired. Had to purchase new tickets. We enjoyed the ride but the money that we lost because of tickets that we could not use due to local civil unrest has left a bad taste.

It was refreshing to take a load off and give my feet a break.

Although most of the bus stops are a short walk away from the main attractions, the Hop-on/Hop-off bus shows you a side to Florence you may not have seen otherwise. My favorite parts of the tour were Piazzale Michelangelo and Fiesole. These locations offered views of the city I never would have seen on foot.

Good historical perspective and lovely ride to an Etruscan village

Do it to get your Florentine history and to go to Piazzale Michelangelo at sunset (most beautiful sunset going down reflecting over the Arno River!). Also, Line B goes to the mountain Etruscan village of Fiesole, which overlooks Florence and is a nice place to have lunch.
