Our guide was very good at introducing us to some of olde Boston, in-character. Great stories, interesting commentary, and very approachable during and after the tour. The tour we went on was huge - well over 50 people - which made it hard to hear, at times but that was the only challenge (and there’s really no way to predict the group size as a customer). We happened to be there for a rare, sunny day in February and it was a great event.
It was an action packed vacation, to say the least. We truly enjoyed Boston and the history! The Whale watching was magnificent, but other tourists would about knock you down to see. So be prepared for that especially if you have small children, even they are not safe on the sunset cruise. With so much to do, it is hard to pack it all in and we had the 5 day pass. We got to about half of the events listed and a few that weren't..
I thought I had signed up for one aimed at kids, but the tour was huge (like 40 people plus) so it was hard for my kids to even see much less follow what was largely delivered as a series of lectures about some of the key locations on the Freedom trail. I thought the lectures were great and would do it again, I just think there may be a better option if you are trying to engage your kids.
The guides were genuine, historically knowledgeable, included participants in discussions and allowed questions. Exceptional guides who are ruining their voices trying to speak over city noises. Most tour guides around the world have amplified microphones. The Freedom Trail tour guides deserve the same. Diane Russell, Speech-Language-Voice Pathologist
This tour was excellent - our guide really kept everything at a good pace. We laughed and learned at the same time. She was both a stand-up comedian and historian, and I am not kidding. The energy you had and information were impressive. Thanks and kudos! Jana
