The Orangerie was originally built in 1852 by Firmin Bourgeouis, but completed by Ludovico Visconti. The museum is located in the heart of Paris, on the bank of the Seine and the Tuileries Gardens, with the Louvre on one side and the Place de la Concorde on the other. Musée de l’Orangerie is very well known for its impressive collection of Claude Monet’s mural Water Lilies. The Water Lilies cycle occupied Monet for three decades, who then donated the final great panels to the French state in 1922.

This museum also holds works by Cezanne, Renoir, Picasso, Matisse, Modigliani, and many more. Don't miss this chance to admire Water Lilies in person, along with many other lovely and relaxing works so typical of the impressionist period.
