Traveled easily by train from Paris, on arrival there was a short walk to the palace itself. The audio tour was very informative and the palace impressive. The gardens were definitely the highlight of this Chateau, I recommend a bike rental (you can also rent golf carts) to get around faster as the grounds are vast. Fast food is available in many areas as well as wine and beer and sit-down restaurant.

Versailles is definitely worth visiting as it shows how rich French were and how splendid the life at court might have been. It has beautiful architecture, art pieces and gardens. The huge downside is that there is no fast track entrance and that we had to wait for about 2h to enter. This was absolutely outrageous!

Expect long lines regardless what time you get there. everyone who had tickets already had to wait in the same long line. There was no such thing as skip the line ticket. But the line moved very quickly. we waited about 4p minutes to get in and it was worth it.
