Why take a hop-on hop-off bus tour of Paris?

Hop-on hop-off buses offer visitors to Paris a cheap and easy way to experience the city's spectacular sights at their own pace. Here are some highlights to help get your sightseeing itinerary started!

Place de la Bastille

The square is home to the Bastille Opera – one of Paris' most striking modern buildings – and the July Column, which commemorates the July Revolution.

Musée du Louvre

The Louvre, a fortress-turned-museum, is an essential visit for the architecture alone. When you don't have a bus to catch, come back to see icons like the Venus de Milo and Mona Lisa.

Arc de Triomphe

Alight at the George V stop to see Napoleon Bonaparte's famous arch and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, as well as the notorious cabaret venues Lido and Crazy Horse.

Eiffel Tower

If you've already seen and done Paris' most famous monument, the Eiffel Tower, then consider checking out the nearby Musée du Quai Branly for a ravishing collection of tribal art and lush greenery.

Les Invalides

There's nowhere better to enjoy the sunshine than the gorgeous Esplanade des Invalides or neighboring Rodin Garden. If it looks like rain, visit Napoleon's tomb at the Army Museum instead!

Planning Your Visit

How much does it cost?

Hop-on hop-off bus tours of Paris are one of the cheapest methods of sightseeing across the city. Prices start at €30 and rarely go above €40 for a single day, with a short Seine cruise even added on!

Which route to take?

Bus tour companies usually operate across various routes (or lines). These tend to serve a pragmatic purpose rather than a thematic one but are generally easy to navigate. Tour listings provide full details. If you don't think you can squeeze all your points of interest into a single day, multiple day tickets are usually available for just a few euros more.

What people are saying about Paris

Great, never waited more than 10 minutes.

Would definitely recommend, bus routes covered the main sites and came at regular intervals. If bus was full just waited a few minutes until next one.

The Tour was everything I could wish for.

This tour was taken on the last night of our stay in Paris, I wasn't sure what to expect we sat down stairs on the bus as the top deck was full! The earphones that were provided were ok once you had found where to plug them in and which channel to chose for English. The tour got under way and the only 2 complaints that I would make were the fact that the bus's suspension left a lot to be desired and when it got dark and we want to take pictures the driver left the downstairs lights on so they reflected in the windows (he did turn them off after about an hour which was too late) the stop for the light show was exceptional at the Eiffel Tower and we were able to go on the top deck to take some brilliant pictures of the light show. All in All good value for money. I went with my Son and Daughter-in-law but no children so cannot tick either for family at the bottom of this article.

Great for free and easy planning and skipping the line.

Easy to locate the guide to collect your tickets. The rest are up to your planning.

The hop on-hop off took us to all the main attractions conveniently.

However, I was quite disappointed as I wish that there would be an announcement every time we arrived at a particular stop. This is because passengers from the lower deck cannot clearly see the signboard of the stop we are arrive at and I often had to ask the bus driver about our whereabouts.
