Prepare for the activity
Castle Clinton, Battery Park, New York City. Your guide will meet you in front of the bookstore 15 minutes prior to tour start time. He/she will be holding a sign with the name of the tour. You do not need to wait in the ticket line, your guide will have you tickets ready for you. If you arrive early, and it's raining, please do not wait inside the bookstore. There is a Castle Clinton exhibit near the north entrance and you are free to wait in there.

Know before you go
- This tour is not wheelchair accessible
- The guided portion of the tour is 3.5 to 4 hours subject to the ferry schedule but to fully experience Ellis Island it is recommended to spend an additional hour on the island before returning to Manhattan
- It is recommended to wear comfortable shoes because a moderate amount of walking is involved
- If the tour is canceled due to poor weather you will be given the option of an alternative date or full refund
- The tour departs promptly and if you are late you will not be able to join the tour or be entitled to a refund
- Backpacks, strollers, and other large items are not permitted in the pedestal of the statue and there are lockers available for a deposit of 25 cent
- Photography is permitted but monopods or tripods are not
- You are not permitted to bring food or drink (except bottled water) or weapons of any kind at the statue
