Full description
Discover the historic mansions and gardens built by some of Nashville’s most prominent families. Find out how these buildings served as the economic and cultural centers of Nashville in their day.

First, make a visit to the Belle Meade Plantation, a beautiful Greek Revival Mansion with over 5,400 acres. Learn about how it was the nation's leading thoroughbred horse farm, and the epicenter of society and social events in Nashville. After a guided tour, enjoy a wine tasting in the winery. Explore the beautiful grounds and gift shops where you can sample ice cream and home-made fudge.

Then, head over to the Cheekwood Estate & Gardens (open Tuesday – Sunday), built in 1932 and one of the finest examples of the American Country Place Era movement. Find out how the 36-room mansion was designed by famed architect Bryant Fleming. Enjoy time to explore the mansion, beautiful botanical gardens, and art exhibits on your own as well as eat lunch at Cheekwood’s Cafê 29.

On Mondays, as Cheekwood Estate is not open, make a trip to Belmont Mansion instead. Built in 1849 as a summer residence, Belmont Mansion is a 19th-century home that features the stylings of an Italian villa set amidst elaborate gardens.
