The trip was well organised with the tour van arriving on time. Our driver was keen to give us information about living in Athens which was interesting. The various sights are definitely worth seeing and we met our guide for each at the various locations. The meet & greet was well organised and I never felt I was being abandoned at any point. We were shown all the important areas and artifacts in the the museums which was good. My only criticism would be that we had a very long lunch break in Nafplio which seemed longer than necessary. Overall however I would recommend the tour if you want a small group experience and want to see these archaeological sites.
Our meeting place was at a nearby hotel. The group was easy to spot with the van with the logo displayed. We were a group of 9, comfortably seated in a mini bus. the drive was scenic.. I wished we could have stayed a bit longer in Nafplio town instead of having lunch in the hotel (which was 10 minutes away). Nafplio is such a quaint town, we promise to stay longer if we visit again.
A very nice tour crisscrossing the Greek heartland. We covered and saw a lot in four days. Well conceived and planned - lots of driving but broken down into bearable stretches. Our guide Anthony was very informative. I would highly recommend using the hotel upgrade option. Our co-travelers who had not done so were not complimentary of the hotels used in the non- upgraded selections.
The site at Mycenae was amazing. Lots to see and it was wonderful seeing the Lions Gate up close. The museum there was small but good. The golden mask and other important objects are in the National Archaeological Museum in Athens. The restaurant was standard and drinks , even cokes , coffee, or tea were extra.
It was an excellent tour. The bus was very comfortable, the guide was very well prepared and nice, her english was very good too. The tour was organised well. The only thing that I missed that during the way back to Athens we have seen some beautiful panorama points which would worth to stop.
