The Paris pass is perfect for new tourists who haven't been to Paris before as it kind of organises and structures it for you. The guidebook has everything set up so that you are not having to do much work except picking what of the big list of attractions to do. I see a few people don't think it's worth the money as you can't complete anywhere near all the attractions on the list - we saw it as being money we paid for the organisation, skip the line options and choice. The bus tour is great but make sure you start it early; we were a bit dismayed at the fact that a lot of people get on and stay on for a whole circulation, rather than on and off at different stops, so does make it hard to get a seat up on the open top; if that really matters to you, you will probably have to wait. I would only recommend to those like myself who don't like to waste time and just want to get out there and do things, otherwise people who prefer to wander might feel they haven't got their money's worth.
We made less use of the transport than I expected. We had only a few days and the weather was cold, with rain and snow -- so we chose to reduce time and increase comfort (and of course cost) by using Uber. One thing I would suggest is to clarify the location of the pick-up point. The wording suggested that you go into Cafe Opera - "1st entry on the left at Café de l`Opéra". In fact you have to go inside Galeries Lafayette Homme - just before Café l'Opéra. The people inside Café l'Opéra had no idea where it was and sent me down the street. It took a long time to find the right place; several French people read the instructions and also thought I had to go to Café l'Opéra. I had some problems using the metro pass - the ticket I was given didn't work directly, but I went to a counter and was given a ticket that did. The pass worked flawlessly at several museums, and this was the main reason we purchased it. But for us just getting a Museum Pass would have been better.
The most difficult part was getting to the location to pick it up . It changed 3 times ! Took most of an afternoon to track it down. Kept sending us to different places ! Once we received it . It was very good . Immediate access to Louvre & Metro & transit . Wish we had more time to take advantage of all items the items &Opera house was included. River Cruise was great. Better directions to which dock would have helped. Stood in line 20 min to find out need to go to other place . Was also told by one person we could board at 3 different places , not true , only one place by Eiffel Tower. Please correct confusion about pick up & more detail about boat cruise.
Easy to book, immediate confirmation. The CityPass counter is easy to find and the lady there was nice and helpful. We took 11 of the mentioned Museums/Galleries/Attractions of the Paris city. No waiting in the lines, no troubles at all and you control your spending for the trips. The wine tasting is super recommended and worth 30e alone, but you should book it in advanced. Around the Louvre area you can take about 4-6 museums in one intensive day. If i knew before that some of tbe attractions (yet, few of them) are available only in a specific day i would make better planning. Best way to explore the city, Great value for money
Whilst we did not get priority at Versailles. It was useful at The Louvre. I found it hard to visit enough museums and tourist attractions in three days to recoup the money but this was offset by knowing we didn't have to queue at other sites. Eiffel tower not included but we were lucky as it was closed for two days after we visited due to changes to ticketing arrangements. River cruise was excellent.
