We were picked up extremely punctial by our driver Hassan, next to our Riad. Hassan was great, he could maneuver through the Marrakech/Maroccan traffic very well, he knew a lot about everything, and he was open for whatever question we asked him. The trip led us through several villages, having short stops from time to time when we saw something interesting. In Setti Fatma we hiked / climbed to the waterfalls with a local guide (Mohammed) . This was very beautiful, but also quite exhausting. Due to the rain, the path was also a bit slippery. The guide helped us many times to keep us safe. Since our (3 people) group felt a little bit adventurous, we even went further up then the normal route, which took us about 2 hours. Some stamina is required however. After the hike, Mohammed recommended us a restaurant. After eating something, we traveled back to Marrakech with Hassan.
The tour will take you to the heart of the Amazing people in Morocco. You get to see people extracting the argan oil, pottery and various house activities. When you reach the village you can have your lunch on the river with your feet in the water. Very beautiful sceneries. Then you go up the mountains to see the waterfalls. It is challenging and you need very good walking shoes and stick to the guides advice. Some parts of the track may look dangerous if not familiar with similar tracks. Once you reach the top of the mountain, the views are breathtaking. The lunch is not included in the price but the overall cost very reasonable. You have also to tip the guides. Overall we enjoyed the experience.
Picked up on time from hotel on outskirts, picked up 3 others, travelled to Ourika and stopped at little points on the way such as a traditional Berber house etc. Trekked up the mountain, quite steep going at times and rocky but very manageable for average fitness. Guide showed us lots of different plants and views. Prepare to take a dip in the waterfall! Trekked back down and dropped off in a restaurant. We took our own lunch to eat outside as the restaurant only served set menu for around 12 euros. On the way back our driver took us to a local pottery shop so we could get a good deal on a tagine! Very good day would highly recommend
It's a great tour! It's 8-9 hours tour but you see a lot. Go to an argan farm, what is interresting, see how berber live - go into a house, and last but not least the waterfall. It's also a great trip to escape the summer heat. You driver was really nice and kind and the guide mohamet was amazing. The tour the hill can be a bit hart, but he was helping everybody and looking after them. You have the stunning few. And you eat in a berbervillage for lunch what was good after the hike. A really enjoy the trip anf it's super cheap. Thanks!
The tour was very interesting and the sights were visually spectacular. The guide who actually took us on the walk through the mountains was very helpful and considerate. The guide who actually drove the minibus was also polite and helpful but it was not professional to be asked to provide feedback of him or the trip over the phone whilst he was present in the van (I’m assuming we were feeding back to his employer in Morocco).
