Full description
Make your way to the historic warship of HMS Belfast, moored off the promenade of The Queen's Walk on London's River Thames. Climb aboard to learn her history and the stories of those who once called the iconic ship home.

HMS Belfast is part of the Imperial War Museum's collection and tells the stories of those who lived and worked on board the warship during World War II and beyond. Discover what it was like to sleep in one of the tightly-packed hammocks during convoy duties in icy Arctic waters, or how it felt to be stationed deep in the ship's bowels when she opened fire on D-Day.

Weave your way through the ship and climb up and down ladders across all 9 decks. Take the helm in the Captain's chair and help recover a downed plane in an interactive game based on a real-life exercise. Keep watch up on the flag deck, where you can get amazing 360-degree views of London. Delve deeper into the boiler and engine rooms 15-feet below sea level.

Life at Sea:
Learn about life on board the HMS Belfast as you walk past rooms like the bakery, dentist’s office, laundry room and sick bay. Discover how war affected and impacted on the morale, resilience and determination of the 950-strong crew through real life stories of the people who served on HMS Belfast with first-hand accounts from veterans in the "Life at Sea" exhibition.

Life at War:
HMS Belfast is the most significant surviving World War II warship of the Royal Navy, with a history that extends to Arctic convoys, D-Day, the Cold War, Korea and beyond. Engage in a simulation of the Battle of North Cape in the Gun Turret Experience and learn more about other major engagements in the War and Peace exhibition. Take a shot at running the ship through the Pony Express exercise in the interactive Operations Room at the nerve center and brain of HMS Belfast.
