What people are saying about Livorno

Well organised in Livorno but not in Pisa don't be disabled.

We were somewhat worried about this trip as we had always trips organised by the cruise ship. We were pleasantly reassured at the meeting point by the female agent who was excellent, we were surprised to find we were traveling by double decker especially as my wife and I have walking difficulties but we found seats downstairs. However, no designated disabled seats. The trip to Pisa considering the dreadful weather, heavy rain, was uneventful and safe. We were a little confused by the map supplied and walked an extra 500metres in heavy rain also there is a reasonable walk from the bus park, which it would be useful to know before we booked. The return was not so good we were given conflicting times to leave, printed on the leaflet it was 1pm but this was contradicted by the agent who said 1.15pm. The knock on effect was that most people arrived back at 1pm we were back by 1.10pm to find the only available seats were upstairs. There was no attempt to help us climb the stairs!

Brilliant transport option to explore Livorno

Highly recommend seeing the town of Lucca. I would never have considered it but as the bus option came with seeing Pisa I gave it a go and I’m very glad I did. There are a lot of sights to see in the 3hrs you have there - in fact I wish I had more time there. Highlight for me was the Guinigi Tower. A few stairs to climb - around 250 - but the view at the top is just magic. Full 360 degree view of the city. Plus you can shade under the oak trees growing from the top. I felt the Pisa stop was a little rushed, considering you have to shuttle or walk the 10-15min to the tower - but if you’re only there to have the quickest whip around, then it’s fine. The bus ride is very comfortable and easy to get to the pick up location. I travelled on a cruise and our shuttle took us straight to the pick up point, but it would be easy to get to the square if you had accommodation in another spot. The 10.30am start is also quite nice for a sleep in!

Stefano was amazing and the tour was our favorite of the trip!

Stefano contacted us before the trip to coordinate and was friendly. We asked if we could meet slightly later as our kids were tired from Rome and Stefano immediately responded and accommodated. Stefano was extremely knowledgeable about the area, buildings in Pisa, and Lucca and genuinely seemed to love the area. He helped us with tickets to Pisa and which route and how much time to take. He then took us to a leisurely day in Lucca. He knew the bike rental. shop and directed us to bike the wall which was great and easy. A highlight of the trip. He accommodated our requests to stop for liquor and wine/oil and took us to a great reserved restaurant and even recommended menu items. He gave us a map and directed us to explore at our own pace and coordinate to meet him. It was a great time and Stefano put us at east the entire time. Thank you!

This tour was such a great time! Alicia was an excellent guide!! ❤️

I truly enjoyed this tour with Alicia as our guide and Pammela helping us out in the main office. Our ship was very late to port and they were more than accommodating to our group. They went above and beyond helping us see all our chosen sites and they facilitated Accademia tickets which was a dream come true! Thank you so much Alicia!! You made this trip so memorable. And thank you to Pammela who helped us so much from the office.

Great guide but tour itself was just average

Our guide Alice was very sweet, very enthusiastic and very knowledgeable. She was definitely a 5. Our tour started 1 1/2 hours late and even though the company threw in an extra hour, we were still stuck waiting around. The tour itself was really just being bussed from place to place and walking around, although it definitely gave us a taste of Florence and Pisa.
