What people are saying about Krakow

Well worth the visit, and value for money

We went to the 4.30 tour on a Friday which was still busy. This was a group of about 12, differing ages 25-65, fortunately, all around the same level of fitness. Completed the tour in an hour and a half. Then queued around half an hour for life back up. Lifts hold 10 people including lift operators and are very small, so be prepared. Not an issue for me but maybe others if claustrophobic, though the journey back up is quick. Need to wear comfortable shoes, possibly an extra jkt or clothing, temperature in the mine is set at 17-18 degrees. Moving at a constant pace and relatively quickly, meant that I didn’t need extra clothing to keep warm. Initially a lot of steps (wooden) down to the mines. One set of steps (rock salt) to the largest chamber. Rock salt statues very impressive, and the chambers also gave us some respite from the sun as temperatures in Krakow and surrounding areas were in the 30’s in late August 2019.

Absolutely Amazing and thought provoking!

Wow! What a day! Punctual pick up by Michael our driver, very comfortable bus journey throughout. Auschwitz-Birkenau tour extremely insightful and harrowing. The tour guide was exceptional and very respectful. Everything explained perfectly and his knowledge was second to none. Lunch was perfect! Lots of bottled water available to combat extensive heat. Salt mines exceptional and light relief after the camps. Amazing that there are nine levels and we got down to three, which incorporated the must exquisite salt formations. I never knew salt was so versatile, especially the church, which actually holds regular Sunday services and even Weddings! A must see! Overall an exceptional, well organised day and would totally recommend! Julia - England

Very knowledgeable and enthusiastic guide

The guide was lovely and was obviously very passionate about her country. Some of the stories were very moving. I highly recommend. A guided tour is optional; however, everything is explained in a lot more depth than if you went solo and read it all yourself. Very factual and accurate history. We bought a ticket online, as it was slightly cheaper and saved about 20 minutes waiting in a queue. They also accept mobile tickets, so you don’t have to find a printer, which is ideal.

Our driver Christopher was excellent, friendly and informative

1. The printed ticket said pick up time was 7-9 am, received an email the day before saying pick up is now 5.40 am. 2. The tour was to rushed, couldn’t read any of the articles, we just had to keep moving, didn’t see all the blocks. 3. Break stops were to short. 6 mins for a toilet stop is not long enough when there are queues.

Excellent tour and private transfer service

This tour was excellent from the beginning. We opted for a private transfer from our hotel which was on time. The driver was friendly, very chatty and explained the background to the Auschwitz Museum during the hour journey. The tour guide was very informative and clear.
