  • Stroll through Kazimierz, the Jewish district of Krakow
  • Explore the stalls in the Main Market Square and shop for souvenirs
  • Admire the incredible medieval altar at St Mary's Church
Full description
You will begin your tour by visiting the Jewish District of Kazimierz to explore the area which used to be inhabited by one of the most diverse Jewish communities in Europe.

Then a short drive will take you up the Wawel Hill which is the embodiment of Poland's former monarchical glory. On its summit is the Royal Castle and a 14th-century cathedral which hosted nearly all the Polish monarchy’s coronations and funerals.

Having descended the hill, stroll along Kanonicza and Grodzka Streets to reach Collegium Maius (Great College), the oldest building of the Academia Cracoviensis. After visiting the charming Gothic courtyard, continue to the Main Market Square. This bustling heart of the city is the perfect place for picking up souvenirs, especially in the Cloth Hall which has been the local market place for centuries.

Complete your tour by visiting St Mary's Church, where the stunning medieval altar sculpted by Veit Stoss is located and a bugle call sounds towards the four corners of the world every hour on the hour.

Our guide Konrad was very pleasant and engaging. Very knowledgeable as well. Our tour started out in the pouring rain, so the first few minutes in the Jewish quarter we’re from the van. We were able to walk about when the rain stopped. Konrad offered a place to buy a rain poncho or umbrella if we needed one. We got separated from the group for a time and he didn't seem annoyed with us at all (although we were rather embarrassed!).

A good tour of the principal sights in Kazimierz and the Old Town

The tour guide, Carolina, was very knowledgeable and friendly. The minibus took us firstly to Kazimierz for a brief tour of the old Jewish square. The minibus then tool us back to Wawel, where we walked up the hill and visited the Cathedral and the Castle with our guide. We then walked back down the hill and along the Coronation Way into the Main Square to visit St Anne's Church and see the various historic buildings along the way. This is essentially a walking tour, no problem for us, but one American lady struggled with this. I would recommend this tour.

Nice tour. Marianna was very nice and knowledgeable. Wish the tour of the castle was longer more detailed. Also if the tour of the underground of the cathedral was included that would be great. We had to go back to see it
