What people are saying about Krakow

Well worth the visit, and value for money

We went to the 4.30 tour on a Friday which was still busy. This was a group of about 12, differing ages 25-65, fortunately, all around the same level of fitness. Completed the tour in an hour and a half. Then queued around half an hour for life back up. Lifts hold 10 people including lift operators and are very small, so be prepared. Not an issue for me but maybe others if claustrophobic, though the journey back up is quick. Need to wear comfortable shoes, possibly an extra jkt or clothing, temperature in the mine is set at 17-18 degrees. Moving at a constant pace and relatively quickly, meant that I didn’t need extra clothing to keep warm. Initially a lot of steps (wooden) down to the mines. One set of steps (rock salt) to the largest chamber. Rock salt statues very impressive, and the chambers also gave us some respite from the sun as temperatures in Krakow and surrounding areas were in the 30’s in late August 2019.

Fantastic and personalized tour of Krakow!

My boyfriend and I did a private tour of Kazimierz with Seweryn and we absolutely loved it. Since we were both already quite familiar with the city and a lot of the more recent historic events that happened in Krakow, we asked Seweryn if he could give us a more cultural tour of Kazimierz and tell us about how people lived leading up to WW2. Seweryn adjusted the tour upon our request on the spot. He was so informative about everything related to Judaism and its culture and we visited a synagogue, explored off the beaten track alleyways and he told us many stories and legends of old Kazimierz. If you're looking for a more personalized and unique tour, I highly recommend this one!

Friendly driver and guide, comfortable journey.

I would rate the overall experience as good. However, I was almost left behind. On our way towards the exit, I received an important phone call and slowed down a little, but I was delayed only by a minute. The tour guide made a head count and led the group out towards the exit and the way out was closed behind them. Luckily the staff at the door were very helpful; they opened the door for me and I was able to join my group before they made their way towards the elevators. My suggestion for the guides is to make the head count carefully and to wait at least 2-3 minutes for anybody who might have been delayed due to a valid reason.

Good tour, but I recommend going by yourself

It was a great tour, but it was quite pricy. You can save a lot of money by booking your own tour on wieliczka website and go to the mine village by bus or train. I did this tour because I was alone, but if you are traveling with more people, save money by organizing it yourself. If you do want to do a tour, the driver was really nice and when I was lost, he personally came to find me, so it was a good experience overall.

The tour guide need help translating and understanding

The tour guide spoke virtually no English and could not relate to us anything. I think he was just the driver that was tapped at the last moment to be the "guide" as well. He was so concerned about traffic that he wanted to return to the city early so he didn't have to deal with traffic. The place was beautiful but we didn't have enough time to explore.
