What people are saying about Königswinter
A very pleasant, no-stress day filled with historic views of picturesque towns, vineyards, and if you look closely, spots in the landscape that indicate fascinating stories in themselves. If you choose not to eat on the boat, there are plenty of opportunities to hop off into one of the postcard-looking but very real towns for a reasonably-priced lunch, then catch the next K-D cruise boat going the opposite direction. Be sure to bring a sweater or jacket because the weather along the Rhine changes quickly. If it rains, there are coverings on board where you can hide from the rain and still enjoy a historic, beautiful view. Wonderful for a much-needed slower-paced day. An excellent value for the money. Would also be easy for older travelers.
Definitely a worthwhile trip, I took 2 days based out of Koblenz and took a train to a different starting point each day and covered a good range of towns in the process. Would have preferred to stay in one of the Rhine towns but carting luggage about would have been a pain & I didn't need to worry about luggage this way.
Enjoyed this leisurly curise from Rudensheim to Koblenz which took approx. 4 hours. Castles, churches and quaint villages on either side with some information provided along the way. Food and drink can be purchased on board and lots of seating inside and out! Really enjoyed this way to travel!
Very happy with KD Rhine Cruises. Boat was very clean, plenty of room, well set out & aOff on a welcome relief from the heat. The large viewing windows made it easy to see the spectacular views from anywhere inside. This is a must do, great value & fabulous way to spend an afternoon.
We had no problems using printed tickets. The facilities on board was great. Took the upstream cruise and this was a wonderful day trip. Used the boat to travel from one city to the next
