Full description
You'll begin by departing from Melbourne a bit later than other tours, which will result in your day not being too crowded. The scenic Great Ocean Road starts at the coastal town of Angelsea. There you will enjoy morning tea by the beach which will include French press coffee, tea, hot chocolate, biscuits, and cake.

From there it will be time to travel one of the most scenic and famous roads in the world. There are many scenic photo opportunities along the way, including the Memorial Arch. You'll visit Lorne where you will stop at Teddy's Lookout for stunning views of the coastline, which is one of those stops that only a small bus can access.

Later, lunch will be enjoyed at Apollo Bay at your own expense. There are plenty of cafes, bakeries, and restaurants which cater to all budgets, or you can alternatively bring your own lunch and have a picnic on the beach. Your guide will then take you on an easy guided walk through the ancient rainforest of the Great Otway National Park.

The 12 Apostles are a popular highlight of the day. Over the years the Southern Ocean has carved away at the massive sheer cliffs, leaving huge haphazard-looking limestone stacks along the shoreline, known as the 12 Apostles. You will also have time to visit the Loch Ard Gorge, a photogenic beach cove surrounded by sheer cliffs. If you are feeling adventurous, you can also take the Gibsons Steps down to the gorge.

As night falls, you'll visit a traditional Aussie pub where you can select from a range of meals, including vegetarian options. At the conclusion of your evening, you will be dropped off either back to your Melbourne CBD or Southbank accommodation, or a train or tram stop if you are staying outside of the city.
