Full description
Throughout history adventurers have been drawn to the extreme reaches of our planet. On this extraordinary day trip, you will have the chance to walk in the footsteps of explores before you, as you cross the Arctic Circle and enjoy stunning views of Alaska as you've never seen it before. The day begins at 07.00 from your hotel, where you will be transported to the Trans-Alaska-Pipeline. Here you can glance one of the world's largest pipelines, which stretches over 800 miles (1,287km). It is a crude oil pipeline privately owned by the Alyeska Pipeline Service Company, and here you will learn the engineering and building process of this epic land-crawling beast. After a short visit to the Pipeline, we stop for breakfast at a rustic truck stop sitting atop a lovely hilltop. After our meal, we cross the mighty Yukon River before arriving at Finger Mountain. Here we enjoy a beautiful hike on a spectacular high plateau far above the tree line. Finally, we arrive at the Arctic Circle. Here we will have our picture taken, and you will receive your very own Arctic Circle Certificate! After some time in this lovely land, we will venture back across the Yukon River, where we will have the chance to walk right up to its mighty banks. Here we have a nice dinner, before checking out the Joy Alaska Arctic Circle Trading Post. You will arrive back in Fairbanks around 22.00.

It's a full day trip, very awesome. Our guide Randy a survivalist and very experienced guide was extremely knowledgeable about the pipeline, the Dalton highway, the area and the Aurora borealis, among other things. Very fun, a trip of a lifetime! I would really like to add a photo, but there is no option for that.

a wonderful wilderness experience!

On Monday, May 30th. my husband and I enjoyed a wonderful adventure commencing at 7 am in Fairbanks Alaska, being collected by Cassie of 1st. Alaska Tours, our driver/guide for the 14 hour 416 mile round trip to the The Arctic Circle, We enjoyed a very informative, educational and interesting day out in the hands of our capable, competent, safe and responsible driver/ tourist guide Cassie who made it possible for us to reach the Arctic Circle which is otherwise fairly inaccessible to motorists apart from the truck drivers who undertake this arduous journey on route from Valdez to Prudhoe Bay. Cassie drove us along the Dalton Highway, stopping at Hess Creek, telling us how fires help with ecosystem regeneration, pointing out millions of acres of 'taiga' and birch forests, barren tundra landscape, Finger Mountain area and ordering the delicious meal we enjoyed near Yukon River before reaching the Arctic Circle and presenting us with our certificate. Great adveture! Thanks Cassie!

Very good but extremely long day

We had a great day and our tour guide Jim was extremely knowlegable and interesting. We knew it would be a long day but felt a lot of the stops were too long. However we had three other people on board one gentleman being 89 years old and so I guess Jim had to take that into consideration. Had we known just how late we would be getting back we would have opted for a tour that flew one way and drove the other.
