Find the best place to see the Eiffel Tower

A glimpse of the Eiffel Tower, outlined romantically against the Paris skyline — that's what you remember after visiting France. If you're looking to photograph Paris to your heart's content, use our short list of great spots in the city to get that breathtaking view (and picture).

To see the Eiffel Tower light show at night, the Trocadero is one of your best location choices. Bonus: the Trocadero is free, and always open.

Arc de Triomphe

You need to climb the 284 steps of the Arc de Triomphe to reach the top of this other famous Paris monument, where you’ll be rewarded by one of the most spectacular views in the city.

This 689-foot skyscraper may not be a beautiful building, but the views are worth it. In the Montparnasse Tower you get the second highest view after the Eiffel Tower and 360-degree vistas.

From the Hotel Raphael

Looking for a romantic Paris date spot? Make a reservation for the terrace at this luxury hotel. Soak in the view, enjoy some champagne, and watch the sunset from the top.

Pont de Bir-Hakeim

Pont de Bir-Hakeim connects the 15th and 16th arrondissements. This famous bridge offers stunning views of the tower and the Seine—a popular spot for photographers.

Our insider tips

Avoid the queues

As you know, Paris is quite the popular holiday destination. Plan ahead if you want to jump around and see the Eiffel Tower from lots of angles. It's easy to buy tickets online and go straight to the top -- but if you're looking to do Paris on the cheap, remember to plan waiting time at major monuments into your itinerary.

Watch your stuff

Lots of travelers are looking for a cafe or restaurant nearby these views, where they can relax and regroup away from the crowds. While all the major tourist areas are safe enough, tourists tend to let their guard down as soon as they order a café au lait. As always, zip up your purse and watch out for thieves.

Opening hours

If you decide to get up close and personal with the Tower itself, it's conveniently open 365 days a year. From mid-June to early September, opening hours are from 9:00AM to midnight. During the rest of the year, from 9:30AM to 11:00PM.

Good to know

  • When should I visit?
The Eiffel Tower is open 365 days a year!
  • Is it expensive?
Free to look at from the outside. Summit tickets prices vary depending on things like the tour type or level of access.
  • Will I need a guide?
Only if you want one! Many travelers enjoy learning about the history and architecture from a guide. Equally as great, tour groups usually get to skip ahead of the long line of tourists waiting to buy tickets.
  • How to get there
The two closest métro stops are Bir-Hakeim (Line 6) and Trocadero (Line 9).
  • Additional information

    • This attraction is free for children under four years old.

    • Keep an eye on your handbag at all times.

Wonderful experience - Monica is the best!

Getting more details and background was helpful. Tour ran well with excellent use of time. Strongly recommend!

A great insight into the history of the Eiffel tower

A great tour of the Eiffel tower, made all the more special by our guide Paul who certainly knew the history of the Eiffel tower and the surrounding area you can see from the 2nd floor. Loads of stories and facts. Fortunately we were also able to reschedule our tour till a day later using the getyourguide app due to a change in our plans. 5

Night Tour that brought good memory and view

The night tour is good for us to see night city and illuminated street. The bus also stopped for few minutes for photo taking at the height of the bus with unblock view. I recommend those who wants to see beautiful Paris at night.

Paris: 2-Hour Panoramic Night Tour Reviewed by KOK WAH, 06/02/2018

Excellent tour and value; we would do it again

Tour was very well run; our guide Roman, was knowledgeable, charming, attentive to his group's needs and funny, to boot. This format has lots of flexibility; you can go directly to the summit, but I would strongly advise staying with the guide for the second level tour. I've been to Paris and the tower several times but learned a lot I didn't know. The timing was very efficient as to "skipping the line." Also know that the summit elevator line is often not as long as it looks because many people without a summit ticket either don't read or think they'll game the system, but they are removed from the line and then it starts to move quickly.

Worked really well skipped all the queues and straight in. Excellent

Great system and good value. Make sure you read the voucher and arrive at the office in good time and not the tower itself. From then on very efficient and saved hours of queuing. Went with the river boat cruise which was well worth the extra
