Find the Best Place to See the Eiffel Tower

A glimpse of the Eiffel Tower, outlined romantically against the Paris skyline — that's what you remember after visiting France. If you're looking to photograph Paris to your heart's content, use our short list of great spots in the city to get that breathtaking view (and picture).

To see the Eiffel Tower light show at night, the Trocadero is one of your best location choices. Bonus: the Trocadero is free, and always open.

Arc de Triomphe

You need to climb the 284 steps of the Arc de Triomphe to reach the top of this other famous Paris monument, where you’ll be rewarded by one of the most spectacular views in the city.

This 689-foot skyscraper may not be a beautiful building, but the views are worth it. In the Montparnasse Tower you get the second highest view after the Eiffel Tower and 360-degree vistas.

From the Hotel Raphael

Looking for a romantic Paris date spot? Make a reservation for the terrace at this luxury hotel. Soak in the view, enjoy some champagne, and watch the sunset from the top.

Pont de Bir-Hakeim

Pont de Bir-Hakeim connects the 15th and 16th arrondissements. This famous bridge offers stunning views of the tower and the Seine—a popular spot for photographers.

Eiffel Tower: Our Tips

Avoiding the queues

As you know, Paris is quite the popular holiday destination. Plan ahead if you want to jump around and see the Eiffel Tower from lots of angles. It's easy to buy tickets online and go straight to the top -- but if you're looking to do Paris on the cheap, remember to plan waiting time at major monuments into your itinerary.

Watch your stuff

Lots of travelers are looking for a cafe or restaurant nearby these views, where they can relax and regroup away from the crowds. While all the major tourist areas are safe enough, tourists tend to let their guard down as soon as they order a café au lait. As always, zip up your purse and watch out for thieves.

Eiffel tower opening hours

If you decide to get up close and personal with the Tower itself, it's conveniently open 365 days a year. From mid-June to early September, opening hours are from 9:00AM to midnight. During the rest of the year, from 9:30AM to 11:00PM.

What People Are Saying About Eiffel Tower

Having a tour guide at Tour Eiffel is essential for 1st timers

Buying the tickets online was very easy. On the day of our Eiffel tour visit, we went to the tickets collection meeting point, you have to be there on time in order to follow the tour guide. His name was Max & he was very knowledgeable & friendly. He gave us info about the main landmarks we saw from the tower which was very beneficial since it was our first day in Paris. Max also told us all about the tower so having a guide with us was very beneficial since I am interested in history & facts. Later on, we went to the summit alone & it was super amazing. We saved time by not having to wait to buy the tickets but there's always a wait on the security check & elevators. As for the Louvre & boat trip, we did them on separate days and both experiences we super pleasant but if you have time, buy the tickets yourself for those 2.

Instant access and an amazing informative guide

Eiffel Tower is well worth the visit and avoiding the queue really makes a difference. Our guide was both helpful and informative and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit with landmarks being easily identified and pointed out to us.

Absolutley impressive, a must do when in Paris

The tour was all that I expected and more, our tour guides Remi and Sebastian where both very knowledgeable and made the tour a very memorable one. It was my first time in Paris and I really would recommend this tour to any first timer in Paris. It takes to the most popular land marks and gives you a quick and broad overview of that lovely city. Remi was amazing with the way he walked us through the Eiffel Tower and major attractions close by. I would highly recommend this tour administered by Linda with these two great tour guides, Remi and Senastian. Their professionalism is outstanding.

The security guard was rude, people skills is needed.

The security guard (African man) was quite rude, there were no signs to indicate whether there is a queue to the checks, he told us we should be talking to him from outside the door. Very arrogant I believe . We understand safety is paramount.

Alex really knows Paris and gave us a wonderful afternoon

Alex, our tour guide was really into it, I know Paris reasonably well, however he showed us places I didn’t know they existed. Using an eBike is very convenient and allows you to experience Paris in the best way you can imagine. Thank you Alex and I certainly recommend this trip to everyone.
