Our insider tips

Avoid the queues

As you know, Paris is quite the popular holiday destination. Plan ahead if you want to jump around and see the Eiffel Tower from lots of angles. It's easy to buy tickets online and go straight to the top -- but if you're looking to do Paris on the cheap, remember to plan waiting time at major monuments into your itinerary.

Watch your stuff

Lots of travelers are looking for a cafe or restaurant nearby these views, where they can relax and regroup away from the crowds. While all the major tourist areas are safe enough, tourists tend to let their guard down as soon as they order a café au lait. As always, zip up your purse and watch out for thieves.

Opening hours

If you decide to get up close and personal with the Tower itself, it's conveniently open 365 days a year. From mid-June to early September, opening hours are from 9:00AM to midnight. During the rest of the year, from 9:30AM to 11:00PM.

Good to know

  • When should I visit?
The Eiffel Tower is open 365 days a year!
  • Is it expensive?
Free to look at from the outside. Summit tickets prices vary depending on things like the tour type or level of access.
  • Will I need a guide?
Only if you want one! Many travelers enjoy learning about the history and architecture from a guide. Equally as great, tour groups usually get to skip ahead of the long line of tourists waiting to buy tickets.
  • How to get there
The two closest métro stops are Bir-Hakeim (Line 6) and Trocadero (Line 9).
  • Additional information

    • This attraction is free for children under four years old.

    • Keep an eye on your handbag at all times.

Eiffel Tower summit tour was magnificent

David Cohen is an Excellent tour guide. He not only told us interesting facts about the Tower, but he also give us advice on how to make the most of our Paris visit. The tour was Magnificent! Even the pouring rain and heavy wind in the summit failed to dampen our spirits nor spoil the tour. A few of us have fear of heights but it all went away due to breathtaking views all around - thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it!
