Full description
Whether you’re looking for a family day out or have an interest in Scottish History you’ll find plenty to do at the over 70 paid visitor attractions of Historic Scotland, all of which are easy to get to.

Purchase a 3-day, 7-day, or 14-day Explorer Pass and you’ll only have to pay once to enjoy admission to Scotland's top visitor attractions. The pass is simple to use and comes with extra benefits.

Passes are valid for either 3 consecutive days, 7 consecutive days, or 14 consecutive days. Your pass will not become active until your first site visit, and multiple sites can be visited in any one day. The only restriction is that you can only visit each site once.

But with so many monuments, castles, houses, cathedrals and gardens to explore, that’s unlikely to be a problem! From the far north Iron Age settlement of the Broch Of Gurness to the eerie ruin of Hermitage Castle on the Scottish Borders, the pass covers all of Scotland’s regions and islands, and even includes advanced ticket entry to Edinburgh and Stirling Castles.
  • Free entry to over 70 Historic Scotland paid visitor attractions
  • Free entry to a fantastic program of daytime events
  • Advanced ticket entry at Edinburgh and Stirling Castles

Very good price

The main attraction was the Edinburgh castle but in August there were so many people that was impossible to visit anything as the queue for every room was at least 30-60 minutes long so we were able to visit just a tiny part of the castle. Said that, the pass is definitely good if you plan to visit 3 or more attractions.

Definitely worth it if you are going to visit several castles.

Definitely worth it if you are going to visit several castles. You have faster access to visit the castle. Unfortunately, Dunnottar Castle was not included in this pass. My suggestion is that the tickets given were simply printed on paper as a receipt. Very easy to lose or throw away. For example, a smaller ticket or pass card. And add multiple locations.

Easy and cheap access

It’s worth every penny. Easy and affordable access to som of Scotland’s best historic sites. We used it for accessing Stirling and Edinburgh Castle. We got the family pass, which turned out cheaper than 2 adult passes. We could have brought up to 6 kid if we wanted to.. Highly recommended
