What people are saying about Edinburgh Castle
Our guide, Jen, was great. Informative, funny, and seemed to be enjoying her work. I was less than happy with starting the walk to the castle so far away and at a pace that my wife and I had trouble keeping up with. According to the description of the tour, the walk was supposed to offer an opportunity for the guide to present background on the castle and the tour but it just turned out to be a speed walk to the castle.
Marcia B was a joy to have as a tour guide. She made the whole experience, from the central meeting point to the top of the castle grounds, a fun and educational couple of hours. She was knowledgeable about her subject matter but kept it light and interesting. If we had walked around on our own, we would have missed many important points and would have missed all the historical data.
This pass-the-line guided walking tour was presented by a (seemingly) well knowledgeable and funny guide: Greg. In 1.5 hours he walked from the Edn High Street through Castle to the top, next door to Crown Jewels and the Scottish War Memorial. On the way he made several stops, at each he gave a lively presentation of bits of Scottish history. Very catchy presented, way to go Greg!
Our tour guide Raj was just fantastic, knowledgeable, entertaining, and to understand his English was easy, because of the speaking speed and pronunciation. For a tourist who isn't native is a great advantage. He was open to answer any question. He was passionate and well prepared! Thank you Raj!
Ryan was the tour guild and he was very knowledgeable about the history of Scotland. He told the group lots of entertaining stories as well as how history and the stores all tied into the different areas of the castle.
