Full description
Discover the famous city walls of Dubrovnik, a beautiful reminder of distant medieval times. The city has preserved its city walls despite changing trends that once suggested any types of fortifications are obsolete and redundant. Dubrovnik is among a small few well-preserved medieval cities with 2 kilometer walls surrounding the town allowing for many breathtaking views.

Admire the terracotta roofs and narrow streets from above. In addition, enjoy the clear vista over the Adriatic sea, revealing just about any boat on the horizon. This view explains why the city was successfully defended for centuries and since 1979, Dubrovnik is UNESCO protected.
The town survived many wars, including the recent Homeland War from 1991-1995, but Dubrovnik was renewed in a manner that the damage is not visible. Discover why the city of Dubrovnik has inspired artists, writers and photographers as you explore the ancient Mediterranean city and wander along the elegant walls.

Best Dubrovnik History Tour!

I sincerely enjoyed this tour with Desa. She is a professional tour guide and is a local in Dubrovnik. She will give you an in-depth understanding of Dubrovnik's storied past, present and future. If you're nice, she'll even give you tips about good restaurants to try. :D If you're a traveler who loves history and understanding the places and people they visit this is a tour you must do! Your walk of the fortification system of Dubrovnik will be much, much more than amazing views. :D

Both myself and my husband participated in the 'Dubrovnik City Walls Sunset Walking Tour' the beginning of September 19. It was a fantastic experience, great value and educational of Dubrovniks' history. The tour was just over two hours long. This tour is great for taking great photos. Our tour guide 'Stella' was very patient while we took photos and indeed offered to take photos of us as a couple. She offered a great insight into not only the history of the old city and the its surrounding walls but also on the general living of 'The City' customs and its people. We were also given some facts relating to 'Game of Thrones' which illuminated the walk. We really enjoyed Stella's company and found her very informative, friendly and warm. As the days are hot I would advise the cooler evening tour of the walls. A flat comfortable pair of shoes and water. The setting of the evening sun is a lovely experience. I would certainly give this tour all 5 stars.
