What people are saying about Dublin
It was a fairly short tour through the history of Jameson’s and how it is made finishing with whisky testing lasting approx 45 mins. The tour guide was fairly stern but also tried to be funny at the same time which some people found to be a bit strange. There was a free drink at the end, either whisky on the rocks or whisky with ginger ale and lemon....we choose the latter and I can say it was a definite hit. We did check when booking and through get your guide definitely saved a fair amount of money.
Cillian was a great guide - very enthusiastic and funny. He explained what makes Jameson unique and the history of how the company started. We liked his interaction with the group. We had hands-on experience with the different ingredients at the different stages of the distilling process. It was a very interactive tour as he showed us how to properly recognise the differences in different quality whiskeys. We enjoyed our free Jameson Lime drink at the end.
We enjoyed a very informative, interactive and also amusing, tour and tasting with Dave. The information and displays are well set out and well worth doing. We then enjoyed a complimentary drink in the beautiful down stairs bar, which is open to the public and popular with the locals after work.
Two problems,Iwas unable to book a time on the net for a tour. Everybody just wanted to sell you more tickets. So I had to go there and hopefully get on a tour. The tour guide spoke so fast that with her accent it was hard to keep up with what she was saying. It was like she was running a race!
We had a great time on the tour starting with two of the best Old Fashioned cocktails my wife and I ever had! We learned a lot about Irish whiskey and especially enjoyed the comparative tasting next to scotch and American whisky.
