Full description
Travel through beautiful Kildare to historic Kilkenny on this full-day scenic tour from Dublin. Once the medieval capital of Ireland, Kilkenny boasts Ireland’s finest Norman castle and will also provide you with the chance to try a pint of Kilkenny beer in the city where it is produced!

Enjoy some free time to shop for traditional Irish crafts at Kilkenny design shops, such as the one in the Kilkenny Design Centre, where you can purchase unique knitwear, pottery and glass.

Continue to the monastic city of St. Kevin at Glendalough, best known for the wedding scenes in the blockbuster movie “Braveheart” and famous as the location for the film “PS I Love You.”

Sparkling lakes, dense forests and babbling brooks make this a spectacular scenic drive, and a fine day out from the big city. Plus, as an added bonus, you will go to the megalithic portal tomb of Brownshill Dolmen for a sneak peak at how ancient Irish ancestors buried their dead and celebrated their passage into the next world.

The weather was except the weather)!not cooperating, but we stopped to see a beautiful lake in Glendalough and St Kevin’s Church (Kitchen) and round tower, and then Kilkenny and the Kilkenny Castle. Patrick, our guide, was probably the best guide we’ve ever had. Oh my goodness, I learned more about the history of Ireland in one day then I’ve ever heard, read or known in my life...and the pieces all fit together now! And he was funny and entertaining also! It was a wonderful tour on every level (

The Tour was really planned out and had lots of time in between stops where you could relax and listen to the guide. The bus was comfortable and the driver was really nice. The guide had a lot of information about Irish history in general and about the places visited.

Booking was really good, finding the bus was easy (bright green can’t miss it!) the ‘tour’ guide was excellent, lots of facts, explanations, music. Views by the lakes we’re beautiful! Even though the weather wasnt great. We stopped up in the mountains at look out point, was too misty that day but could imagine seeing miles on a clear day! Stop over in the town by the castle was good! Perfect time to look around, take photos, explore Cathedral and have a meal and a pint! Well worth the money as its a long drive between sites, very happy
