What people are saying about Dublin
Very happy with our experience on the DoDublin's Hop-on Hop-off bus. We enjoyed having access to the many sites we wanted to see in the city, and although we had to wait for a half an hour or more for a bus to arrive at Heuston Station, that was the only time we had a long wait. Every other situation was quick. We enjoyed the tour information as well ... much was discussed about parts of Dublin on the tour that we were unfamiliar with, and liked learning about.
One un-great one was easy to understand but kept fishing for tips. Distasteful. I am the one who decides if you deserve a tip or not and hounding people about it only makes me NOT give one......which I didn't. One guy with a beard was so hard to understand. It wasn't because of the Irish accent but because he sort of mumbled and talked softly, slurring each word into the next. It was HORRIBLE.
The 1st bus: the 4 speakers above our heads did not work (!) so we couldn't hear the bus driver/tour guide very well, On the 2nd bus, the speakers were loud & clear, the tour guide not only told us good stories but sang several Irish songs related to the area he was pointing out, which enriched the stories and was good craic.
I was disappointed that we paid full tour price for only half the tour trip. I understand that it was a Bank holiday so I think if only half the tour was available we should pay half the price. Despite this the Tour guide was informative and friendly and next time I look forward to seeing the second part of the tour.
A bit crowed when we were there, but a great way to get around the city. The commentary was very good and informative. Easy to get on and off at each location and drivers were very helpful.
