We were so excited to do the explorer tour with the five hours to travel the whole coast, unfortunately when checking in they looked at our reservation and sent us to a bus, not until after leaving the meeting area did we come to find this was not the right bus and we would not get to do the explorer tour, instead the Cliffs of Moher tour and site seeing. I don’t think they even had a bus for the Explorer Tour that day so they just stuck on with that tour. With that being said we were bummed but made the best of it, our tour guide Alan was fantastic and we loved hearing about/seeing the country side of Ireland and the Cliffs of Moher.

A really beautiful hike along the cliffs but 5hrs is way too much time even at a leisurely pace. Felt we were just killing time waiting for the return bus ride even after stopping for coffee in the pub before starting the hike and having lunch and touring the interpretive centre after and this is the only reason I wouldn’t recommend this tour. If you can find your own way to the trail head you could hike up and back, or cab it back and probably have a better lunch in the local pub.

Great trip overall. Glad we did the option with 5 hours on the Cliffs. Would have liked to see the Arran Islands too, but that would have meant only being at the busiest, crowded part of the Cliffs. Will have to return to do the Islands.
