What people are saying about Charleston
I searched for handicapped accessible tours and the Grayline /Spirit tour came up, so I purchased it. It was NOT accessible. We had to get up steps to the bus, which wasn’t bad, but it was a long, long walk to get to the boat, and there was no place to sit or rest ( nor any restrooms) once we got there. The boat had very steep steps to get on board, which was difficult but doable — but getting down to the lower level where the restrooms were was just impossible, nor were we able to get any lunch. After the boat tour it was another long walk back to the bus. The tour was advertised as 90 minutes on the bus and 90 minutes on the boat, but in reality, we had to go from 1030 to 330 without water, food, or restrooms. The tours themselves were excellent with knowledgeable guides, but I will never again trust that they are accessible.
Our guide Amy was very knowledgeable about the restaurants we visited and others in town, and also about the food we ate. Met the owner of the first restaurant and he told us his story. Amy answered all our questions about Charleston. Highly recommended!
Trip was enjoyable, great views even from below decks (and it's air conditioned) :-) Learned history and lore information I didn't know before. Boat was clean and ride was smooth. Duration of trip just right (90 mins) Thank You.
Great value for the money. Allowed us to take in Charleston in an informative and lighthearted way. I would recommend the Carolina Belle and her great crew to anyone.
Great people, informative staff, great boat, trivia challenge was a blast. Study up on the origins of the civil war and you’ll do fine.
