What people are saying about Catania

The trip and guide/driver was excellent and knew about the location.

The guide picked us up on time and was informative, friendly and shared his knowledge willing - it was great. The only downside of the trip was the fact that it was only once I had paid my money that it was mentioned in the payment confirmation that I needed a voucher before I could go on the trip and that my receipt would not be enough. I only booked the trip the day before I was due to fly so had no chance of printing out any voucher and could not receive any of my emails in Catania. I had to phone the UK number which I fortunately took down to find out if I could cancel the trip as I had no voucher or go on the trip without a voucher. The young lady was extremely helpful and told me she would check and phone me back which she did within 10 mins with the news that I could go on the trip without the voucher. A bit stressful as you can't get yr money back if cancelled within 72 hrs of travelling so I would have lost £80 through no fault of my own.

A very nice tour to Etna, with the best guide we could expect.

Me and my friend enjoyed this tour very much. Sadly there was no red hot lava to see, but oh well... it was still interesting to see all of that. Getting to 3km hight is a bit too expensive, but the view from there is really nice, maybe having more time to walk around there would be better. The guide was awesome. Funny, interesting and helpful. Told a lot about previous eruptions, and about Etna. Maybe it would be nice to hear some more local mythology stories. Also he gave a lot of tips what else to visit, where to get tasty food. The only sad thing was, that it was the last day we stayed in Catania, so there was not enough time in the day (and not enough space in our stomachs) to visit all places recomended by him. It would be very nice to visit Etna once again, maybe in a different season. :)

Money well spent and a great way to explore Mt Etna!

It was the only activity in Catania that we pre booked with a guide and it was well worth it. Julia fetched us from our hotel perfectly on time and was friendly and talkative, offering a lot of interesting information on Catania & Mt Etna. She is very entertaining and a fantastic guide. She even offered us advice on where to find the best local food in town, and we took her up on her recommendation and was not disappointed. It was a great morning and definitely worth it if you prefer to do things a little more structured. Great way to explore Etna the first time...

Guide (Francesco) was great, very informative and knowledgable

Francesco also had a great sense of humour which made the tour much more enjoyable. I liked that we went all the way to the end of the cave and not just in and out. Was good to have different options to climb mt etna or not. Shame it is so expensive to go up cable. Honey/wine tasting aspect was boring I preferred the other tour to go to a farm but unfortunately due to my travel transfer times I was unable to book that one. Overall value for money.

Nice guide. Fluent in English. Knowledgeable of the subject matter.

Guide arrived to pick us up about 20 minutes late, but I learned that was GetYourGuides fault. Guide was friendly and engaging. Fluent in English. Was knowledgeable regarding a variety of topics relevant to the trip that day. Allowed the group of three couples independence to determine what each would like to do. Only recommendation would be to make stops at the homes destroyed by Etna and a view of Etna on the drive up. Otherwise, great trip.
