What people are saying about Cape Sounion
Our guide, Gari, provided us with a well-informed and entertaining narrative throughout the trip. We arrived at our destination with plenty of time to explore and relax before entering the temple site to witness a gorgeous sunset! The return trip offered more interesting stories about Sounion, Athens and Greece in general. We were delayed a bit by bad traffic upon our return, and the Wi-Fi on the bus was rather weak, making it difficult to establish a steady connection. I would also recommend taking the coastal route there and the more inland route back to allow for better views of the coastline. Overall, this was well worth the price and my time.
Sounion at sunset is an experience not to be missed and this tour made the travelling easy. The coach tour starts on a busy main road at a suburban Metro station (and the starting point is bit tricky to find: it's on the other side of the road to the bus station). This helps avoid Athens traffic. The coach returns very usefully to the centre of Athens. At Sounion we had plenty of time to enjoy the site and the fantastic sunset. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable, but we found she gave too much information, especially on the journey home. Silence is sometimes a. virtue
Big thanks to our awesome Tourguide - we learned a lot & had fun while doing so. Marina was even so Kind to wait for a family that was running late for the trip! The bus driver also did an amazing job on the windy roads! Also the breathtaking view at cape Sounuion could not have been better - all in all a beautiful experience which I would recommend to anyone visiting Greece! .
The trip was very nice. Azure blue water till as far as the eyes could see. The lovely beach towns dotting the coast and the wonderful temple at the end of it. It was a memorable drive. Only one point looks like our guide Eva seemed a little stilted in her English. Plus give at least 90 minutes at the Site.
Gary, our guide (archeologist) shared many interesting stories and facts. She adders quality to the trip. The stop we made at the ancient theater, the silverwashery was a very pleasant and educational surprise. Nice stop at the Harbour. the tempel of Poseidon is Beautiful and the sun set phenomenal.
