Pick up 2am. Return 8pm. The drive was uncomfortable too many in the mini van plus the AC was inefficient. Egyptologist courier was friendly and knowledgeable but in too much of a hurry in the museum. 15-20 minutes 'free' time after her wizz around tour was not enough. At the pyramids and sphinx, which are mind blowing amazing when viewed for the first time but again we were hurried from one to the other. eg: We stopped in a car park to the left of the Sphinx and being in a wheelchair plus using a stick for support I struggled but managed the few steps to the viewing platform. We were rushed so I didn't have time to see the Sphinx front-on. A bomb went off close by about 400mtrs from us and no one took any notice. For the price of the trip, around £50 per person, 'Get Your Guide'/'Egyptia Travel' provide a good service. For comfort there are plenty of more expensive options available. With the museum & optional boat trip on the Nile the overall trip was an unforgettable experience.
The felucca ride was absolutely beautiful. Our ride commenced just before sunset which was perfect. The boat is meant for a small intimate setting, holding up to 10-15 people comfortably. We were lucky to have had this ride all to ourselves. The captain was friendly and we felt safe sailing the Nile River. This was the last tour of our trip and we were extremely happy that we were greeted by Nader, the tour guide for our first tour (Dinner Cruise on the Nile). He was just as great of a guide as he was the first time. He is friendly, easy going, informative and simply a pleasure to be around. He made us feel safe, welcomed, and happy to be in Egypt. He gave us info but also gave us time to just take in all the sites. Looking back, we wish we had Nader for all the tours and rides we booked through Get your Guide/ Emo Tours. When we return to Egypt we hope he will be our guide. We recommend the felucca ride if you are looking for a short scenic, relaxing beautiful ride on the Nile!
A long bus ride from Hurghada to Cairo but really worth it. Our guide, Rushia, was a pure joy. Her knowledgeable and advice was exceptional. Her spoken English and sense of humour made this trip even more enjoyable. The museum is fascinating but with time at a premium our guide lead us to the most interesting and unusual exhibits. The pyramids were breathtaking. Again, our guide gave sound advice on the scams and rip offs that some of the ‘merchants ‘ try. I found a firm but polite “NO, thank you”. Worked well enough. We were quite sad that we didn’t realise when our guide was leaving us because we wanted to give her a very well deserved tip but we missed our opportunity. Should anyone reading this go on this trip and are lucky enough to have Rushia as a guide, perhaps you would be kind enough to tell her Papa Don says “Horus” and Nancy says she misses her. Easy to book this trip on the app. Excellent value for money. Highly recommend.
We had a really great tour. We were picked up in Safaga at 1 am and arrived in Cairo at around 10.00 am. It was a long travel but everything was smooth running and on schedule. Then we met our English guide outside the museum . She was great. Forgot her name though but we are group “Horus” (July 4,2019). She gave us a lot of information (historical facts) during the museum tour. Then afterwards we went to a tour in the Nile river for about 30-45 mins (paid 10 euros extra) but it was worth it. Then we had lunch in Giza overlooking the pyramids. Afterwards, pyramids tour. We went camel riding (10 euros pp) but with an official camel guy. It was an unforgettable experience...plus the camel guy took great photos and videos of us. Afterwards, we went inside the pyramid! Yes bucket list checked! Then lastly we went to the perfumerie and we got good deals with oils. It was legit! Then we head back to Safaga...
The + : A great day, as we've seen astonishing places (Pyramids, Cairo Museum, Sphinx). We had a great guide named Rimo. She's fluent in English and in French, and gave us interesting advices and information, even about avoiding crooks on sites ( you will be purchased for tips all day long) . Don't hesitate to ask if she's available the day you will be visiting ! The - : - Even though the organization as a whole is well-handled (hotel-airport transferts, food, fast entrance on sites…), you will face many waiting times if you do not opt in and pay cash for many optional tours such as Nile Cruise, Camel Ride, Entrance Inside Kheops Pyramid etc... If you've always dreamt of seeing the pyramids, you won't be disappointed, but be aware that it will took you a very long day ==> we had to leave our hotel at 3.00AM and returned back at 10.00 PM … :) Enjoy your trip
