Your first stop on this bilingual guided city tour of Budapest is in the Castle District for a short walk to see the area’s main attractions. You’ll visit Matthias Church and the Fishermen’s Bastion, the perfect spot for enjoying spectacular views of the surrounding area.
The tour continues with a drive to the Citadel atop Gellért Hill, where you’ll marvel at the panoramic views of the city. You’ll then travel across the Elizabeth Bridge to the Pest side to see the famous Central Market Hall and Europe’s largest synagogue, followed by a drive to the city park.
Along the way, you’ll pass the largest thermal spa in Europe and the Budapest Zoo, and then stop at Heroes’ Square, where you’ll find statues of famed Hungarian kings and dukes. The tour continues from here down Andrássy Avenue to downtown Pest, passing the Opera House and St. Stephen’s Basilica.
At the Parliament Building, you’ll get off the bus again for a 1-hour guided tour. Designed by the renowned Hungarian architect, Imre Steindl, the building was inspired in part by the Palace of Westminster and is the largest Parliament building in the world. Inside, see the splendid session room, the richly decorated central staircase, and the great vaulted hall. You’ll have the opportunity to see the cupola room as well, which houses the Crown Jewels and the Hungarian Holy Crown.

The tour itself was informative but the a/c in van didn’t work and it was stifling since windows didn’t open. Also we joined the group at Grey Line office where we caught the bus but tour left across the street from our hotel—could have saved us the 30 min walk and bus ride to the van had we known. Pretty good on basic tour and guide was quite good.

Greatr overview of the city
Robert was a good driver and tour leader. He was extremely knowledgeable. There were only 4 of us on the English tour. The directions took us to the storefront to meet and then go to the 'meeting' place. The storefront was a 20 minute walk from our hotel and the meeting place was a 2 minute walk. We should be given both locations on the ticket so we can go to the location of our choice. Loved the Parliament building and was glad we made the tour as those not on a tour had difficulty getting in. The French group, which was the same size had both a driver and guide, and that would have been better as there were a couple of places he stayed with the car and could have explained a lot more had he been with us ,

If you only have 1 day- this is a great tour.
that was NOT A PRIVATE TOUR as advertised. It’s was 7 in our group and many more joined us on a tour. Also, thebus didn’t pick us up at the hotel, we had to walk pretty far to it’s location and get transferred to another bus for actual tour, and our tour was in 2 languages, because half of the bus was of Italians. Overall walk and transfer killed about 1 hour. Not very professional and misadvertised.
